Santo Domingo, D.N. -The municipal mayor of Nagua, Junior Peralta Ventura, was invited to participate as a guest speaker at the opening of the 5th Forum of Port Cities of Latin America and the Caribbean (FCP-ALC 2026), where he was also awarded for his outstanding work, having widely influenced the development of the city of Nagua as its mayor.
An event developed in conjunction with the 1st RD – CIUDHA Forum, under the slogan “Towards an urban agenda 2026-36, for human and territorial development”.
During the activity, the municipal executive received the Recognition of Good Practices for the development of the Port City in the Caribbean Region.
This distinction highlights the impact of his municipal work at the Nagua City Hall, especially valuing the construction of parks, monuments with public areas, sports courts, indoor sports arenas, outdoor gyms, and community recreation spaces that promote social cohesion and citizen recreation.

At the event held in the Manuel del Cabral Auditorium of the Pedro Mir Library, Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Peralta had two interesting participations as a guest speaker, raising the flag of the development and growth of the municipality, citing the city of Nagua as a living example.
This important international meeting was coordinated by the Association of Architects and Urban Planners of Latin America and the Caribbean (AAULA), the Latin American and Caribbean Port Cities Forum (FCP-ALC 2026), the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), and the Architecture Nucleus of the College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA).
It also had the sponsorship of various entities in the region.
