Ceuta.- More than 600 migrants, out of the 10,000 that according to Ceuta authorities remain in the city following the mass entry recorded from Morocco on July 30th, have voluntarily left Ceuta in the last 48 hours, police sources have indicated.
The same sources have detailed that the return is taking place progressively and is due, among other reasons, to the realization by the migrants themselves that they will not be able to move to the peninsula and that, ultimately, they will have to face their return to Morocco.
The move comes after several days of uncertainty in which thousands of people who entered Ceuta irregularly have remained in different parts of the city, waiting to know what their situation would be and the possibilities of continuing their journey to the peninsula.

The authorities are maintaining the deployed operation to address the migratory situation resulting from the mass entries, while the city faces an unprecedented crisis that has forced the reinforcement of resources allocated to the care, identification, and management of the people who remain in Ceuta.
