Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported this Wednesday the voluntary surrender of Wilson Gabriel Morel Peña (a) “Cambumbito”, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in criminal activities with the deceased Andry Guzmán.
The individual in question appeared in the afternoon at the Palace of the institution of order, accompanied by family members and the president of the organization Rights Without a Face, Eugenio Torres. There he was received by the spokesman for the National Police, Colonel Diego Pesqueira.
According to the information provided by the institution, at the time of delivery, all fundamental rights were guaranteed in accordance with the law, and subsequently, he will be made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.

“Cambumbito” was identified as an associate of Andry Guzmán, who died after confronting an operational unit of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) in the El Almirante sector, Santo Domingo East.
Guzmán was actively sought through arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0033203, for his alleged involvement in the death of Julio Antonio Abreu, which occurred on April 14th in Ensanche Luperón, Distrito Nacional, in addition to other criminal acts recorded in different areas of Greater Santo Domingo.
The National Police of the Dominican Republic reported that investigations into the case are ongoing to determine possible additional responsibilities.
