National Police reports the surrender of “Cambumbito”, identified as an associate of the deceased “Andry”

Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported that Wilson Gabriel Morel Peña (a) “Cambumbito”, who was actively sought for his alleged involvement in criminal activities along with Andry Guzmán, surrendered on Wednesday afternoon at the institution’s Palace. The detainee appeared in the company of his relatives and the president of the entity Human Rights Without a Face, Eugenio Torres, and was received by the spokesman for the National Police, Colonel Diego Pesqueira. Pesqueira indicated that at the time of his delivery, his fundamental rights were guaranteed, in accordance with the law, and that he will be made available to the Public Ministry for the corresponding purposes.

“Cambumbito” was identified as an associate of the now deceased Andry Guzmán, who died after confronting an operational unit of the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM) in the El Almirante sector, Santo Domingo East. It is recalled that Guzman was wanted by arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0033203 for his alleged involvement in the death of Julio Antonio Abreu, which occurred on April 14 in the Ensanche Luperón sector, Distrito Nacional, in addition to being linked to multiple criminal acts in various sectors of Greater Santo Domingo. The law enforcement agency reported that they are continuing with the investigations into the case.
