The National Police reported that, during the last 24 hours, 56 people were arrested in different parts of the country, through preventive operations, arrest warrants and actions in flagrante delicto carried out by members of the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), for their alleged involvement in various criminal acts.
Among the registered cases, in Puerto Plata, Marcos Antonio Cabreras Díaz, alias “Rancel”, was arrested, accused of the theft of a motorcycle. According to the police report, the detainee admitted his participation in the act, alleging that he kept the vehicle in his possession due to an alleged debt of RD$22,500 pesos that the owner had with him. The motorcycle was voluntarily handed over to the authorities.
In Barahona province, Julio Ferreras Cuevas, 50 years old, was arrested in the act, and seven bags of cement were seized from him, which had been stolen from a house under construction, located on Luis E. Del Monte Avenue.
Also, in Pedernales, by arrest warrant, Wini Winder Castillo, 20 years old, was arrested, accused of breaking into a business owned by a Haitian citizen, forcing a window and stealing merchandise from the freezer and other products intended for sale.
In Bonao, José Miguel Colón Acosta, 27, was arrested in compliance with judicial order 2025-AJ0066652, for alleged violation of article 13 of Law 53-07 on high-tech crimes and offenses, to the detriment of a citizen, with an order issued in Santiago.
In another incident, José Luis Morillo Rosario, 60, was arrested in the act after a police intervention prompted by reports of shots fired in the La Base sector. The man was driving a Jeep Gladiator Sport 4×4 vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and four 12-gauge cartridges were seized from him, stating that the shotgun was stored elsewhere.
While, in La Vega, José Abad Rodríguez, 75 years old, was arrested in the act, who was found with a manual printer, the sum of RD$6,450 pesos and a set of keys. The detainee admitted to engaging in the illegal sale of numbers.
In Moca, through arrest warrant number 598-1-2025-SAUT-01056, Julio César Michel, 60 years old, was arrested, accused of paid work not performed, to the detriment of a citizen.
In San Francisco de Macorís, fugitive José Napoleón Burgos Gonzales, 22 years old, was arrested. He was listed with an active judicial alert for alleged violation of article 309-1 of the Dominican Penal Code, modified by Law 24-97.
In Higüey, Luis Miguel Castillo, alias “Yoyo”, 23 years old, was caught in the act, and 24 portions of alleged cocaine, 13 portions of alleged marijuana, RD$7,360 in cash, and a motorcycle were seized from him.
Also, in Bávaro, Joaquín González Peña, 47, was arrested, accused of stealing 669 dollars from a hotel room. Meanwhile, in Verón–Punta Cana, Arturo Benítez, 23, was arrested, who was
detained by community members after allegedly attempting to sexually abuse an 11-year-old minor with autism.
Finally, in San Juan de la Maguana, Haitian national Luine Rico, 19 years old, was arrested in the act of committing a crime when he was caught inside a cafeteria while allegedly trying to steal food products.
