Members of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL) of the National Police seized a homemade shotgun-type weapon, eight 12 mm caliber cartridges, and a bladed weapon, during a focused operation carried out in the Guaco sector of this city of La Vega. During the intervention, José Joel Díaz Veloz, 32 years old, was arrested, and the homemade firearm and cartridges were seized from him at the time of being searched near the place. Furthermore, an abandoned machete was found in the area, while several people fled upon noticing the police presence.

The detainee and the seized items will be placed at the disposal of justice.
