Prince George celebrates his 13th birthday and prepares for a new academic stage at Eton

Prince George, eldest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, celebrated his 13th birthday this Wednesday, marking a new stage in his life as he prepares to begin his studies at the prestigious Eton College.

To commemorate the date, Kensington Palace released a new photograph of the young heir, in which he appears dressed in a black suit and a white shirt. The image was shared on the official social media channels of the British royal family and received a congratulatory message from King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

George is second in line to the throne of the United Kingdom, only behind his father, Prince William, so he is destined to become monarch in the future.

As part of his education, the prince will soon enroll at Eton College, one of the most renowned and exclusive boarding schools in the United Kingdom. The institution, located near Windsor Castle, has educated generations of royals, as well as prominent figures in British politics and public life.

With this step, George will follow a family tradition, as his father also studied at Eton, although King Charles III received his education at a different institution.

Despite their growing prominence within the monarchy, Prince William and Kate have endeavored to ensure that George, along with his siblings Charlotte and Louis, maintains as balanced a childhood as possible, combining their institutional commitments with a family life removed, as much as possible, from public scrutiny.
