PRM appoints Alexis Victoria Yeb to preside over the Senate in 2027

Santo Domingo. – The Executive Directorate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) agreed this Tuesday that the senator for María Trinidad Sánchez, Alexis Victoria Yeb, will preside over the Senate of the Republic during the 2027-2028 legislative period.

The decision was adopted unanimously and also establishes that the senator for Santiago, Daniel Rivera, will occupy the vice presidency of the Upper House during the same period.

According to the political organization, the selection is part of internal agreements intended to maintain unity and strengthen the majority that the party holds in the National Congress.

Victoria Yeb, who represents María Trinidad Sánchez for the second consecutive term, has carried out active legislative work since her arrival at the Senate.

The legislator was first elected in 2020 and won reelection in the 2024 elections, when he reached more than 75% of the valid votes cast in that province.

With this decision, the senator is on track to assume the presidency of the Senate starting August 16, 2027, while Daniel Rivera will accompany him as vice president of the executive board.

The designation must be finalized through the election of the Senate’s steering committee for the corresponding legislative period.
