Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Public Health, Víctor Atallah, assured this Wednesday that the epidemiological situation detected in the country is under control and does not pose a risk to the population, while calling on citizens to remain calm and trust the measures adopted by the health authorities.
Atallah explained that, since the identification of the cases, epidemiological surveillance and containment protocols were activated, which has allowed the situation to be kept under control and avoid any risk of spread.
“There is no risk, it is not imported, there is no danger at all,” the official stated.
The minister indicated that all affected individuals remain isolated under strict medical supervision in a penitentiary center in the San Cristóbal province, where a sanitary cordon is being maintained to prevent the transmission of the disease.

Likewise, he reported that technical teams from the Ministry of Public Health continue to monitor the cases and maintain epidemiological surveillance to ensure that the situation remains controlled. He added that, so far, no infections have been detected outside the facility where the patients were identified, for which he reiterated the call for calm.
