The rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Dr. Jorge Asjana David, highlighted the Dominican Government’s commitment to strengthening higher education during the ceremony for the delivery of 6,500 national and international scholarships, led by President Luis Abinader in the state academy’s Aula Magna.

During the ceremony, President Abinader urged the scholarship recipients to take on the scholarships with responsibility and to become ambassadors of Dominican identity at the academic centers where they will pursue their studies. Likewise, he motivated them to acquire knowledge, skills, and experiences that, upon returning to the country, contribute to national development, strengthen innovation, and generate greater opportunities for social mobility for present and future generations.

Asjana David, for his part, highlighted that the 1,500 international scholarships and the 5,000 corresponding to the Scholarships of Excellence without Barriers program constitute a strategic investment by the Government in national talent, mostly graduates and postgraduates of the Primadade América University.
