Santo Domingo.- The senator for the Independencia province, Dagoberto Rodríguez, expressed his enthusiasm for the inauguration of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, while congratulating President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, for the work carried out for the celebration of this important sporting event.
Rodríguez highlighted that, beyond the competitions, one of the Dominican Republic’s greatest strengths will be the welcome and support that the people will provide to the athletes who will participate in the games.
“We have the best gold medal, which is the presentation of the Dominican Republic and the reception of the Dominicans to the athletes,” stated the legislator, who expressed his confidence that the event will be a success for the country and for the national delegation.
The senator also invited Dominicans to attend the different competitions and support the athletes who will represent the country in the various disciplines.
In his case, he noted that he has a special interest in enjoying the handball and athletics competitions, while highlighting the participation of athletes from the Independencia province, particularly from the municipality of Jimaní.
