“SNTP mourns the passing of Ignacio Joga, a contributor to the journalistic guild”

Santo Domingo– The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP), led by its secretary general, Manuel Ureña, expressed its deepest sorrow this Tuesday over the tragic passing of the prominent businessman and tireless environmental advocate, Ignacio Joga Isa, who was the president of Óptica Almánzar and the Mundo Verde Foundation.

Joga Isa lost her life, an event that has shocked the entire Dominican society, and in a very special way, the communication and social activism sector.

In offering his statements on behalf of the entire national journalistic guild, Manuel Ureña defined the late businessman as a historic ally and a great collaborator of the SNTP, highlighting his permanent willingness to support initiatives in favor of media professionals and workers.

“For the SNTP, the passing of Ignacio Joga represents not only the loss of an exemplary businessman, but that of a dear friend and an unconditional collaborator of our union. Ignacio was always present, extending a helping hand to press workers and actively supporting our causes,” stated Ureña with evident dismay.

The union leader also praised Joga Isa’s facet as a brave environmentalist, whose voice never wavered in denouncing deforestation and the indiscriminate extraction of materials from the country’s rivers, leaving an indelible legacy through his Mundo Verde Foundation.

In this moment of deep sorrow, the National Directorate of the SNTP and the entire union membership extend their most sincere condolences to his wife, his brother Franklin Joga, his relatives, collaborators, and loved ones, praying to the Almighty for the eternal rest of his soul and for the strength of his family to overcome such an irreparable loss.
