Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that this Sunday a mostly sunny and hot environment will prevail across much of the national territory, although a tropical wave will cause some local showers in different provinces of the country.
According to the agency, light to moderate rains are expected during the morning hours in localities of La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, and La Romana. In the afternoon, precipitation could occur briefly in San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, and Monseñor Nouel, while the rest of the country will see a predominantly grayish sky due to the presence of Saharan dust particles.
In addition, Indomet explained that temperatures will continue to be quite high due to the time of year and the presence of this atmospheric phenomenon. Maximums between 33 °C and 35 °C are expected, although in some locations they could exceed 35 degrees Celsius, with an even higher heat index.
Given these conditions, the agency recommends that the public drink enough water, wear light-colored, lightweight clothing, stay in cool places, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., especially in the case of children, the elderly, and pregnant women.

In Greater Santo Domingo, a mostly sunny and grayish sky is expected, with slight cloud increases and isolated showers during the afternoon, both in the National District and in the municipalities of Santo Domingo Norte, Santo Domingo Este, and Santo Domingo Oeste.
