The Emmys pay tribute to Dolly Parton, Rob Reiner and Catherine O’Hara

Los Angeles.- The Emmy gala paid tribute this Monday to country legend Dolly Parton, actress Catherine O’Hara, and film director Rob Reiner, who passed away after the last edition of television’s most prestigious awards.
Actress Sally Field was in charge of honoring Parton’s memory, praising her work both as a country legend and for her humanitarian efforts.
“I never stopped loving her. Despite living so far away, she was humble, creative, supportive, and had a great sense of humor,” said Field, who shared a close friendship with the singer.
Field and Parton worked together in 1989 on the film ‘Steel Magnolias’, a comedy-drama that follows the complex lives of a group of friends in a town in Louisiana (USA).
Immediately afterwards, her friend and collaborator Reba McEntire also appeared on stage to sing ‘Appalachian Memories’, the 1983 hit released on the album ‘Burlap & Satin’.
The song is about a poor Appalachian farming family that moves north in search of work and a better life. “I love you very much, Dolly,” the performer concluded.

American actor Macaulay Culkin appeared on stage alongside Annie Murphy and Dan Levy to pay tribute to Catherine O’Hara, who passed away on January 30th.

“She was my mother (in the movie ‘Home Alone’) and the mother of everyone. By the way, call your mothers. She always showed up when I asked her to, and this is the best we can do for her,” said Culkin in a speech in which he appeared visibly moved and with a choked-up voice.
Following a performance by Noah Kahan, Jamie Lee Curtis, on the verge of tears, remembered director Rob Reiner, who was found dead in his home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles alongside his wife Michelle in December of last year.
“He was generous, kind, and very funny. We all miss Rob and Michelle,” he said during a speech.
The Emmys also commemorated other Hollywood stars such as Diane Ladd, Hayden Panettiere, Robert Duvall, Tim Curry, or designer Bob Mackie, among others.
