Rob Reiner, 78 years old, was a central figure in cinema in recent decades. His career included directing titles such as When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride and Stand by Me, while his wife Michele Singer Reiner served as a producer and activist. After marrying in 1989, the couple had three children: Romy Reiner, Nick Reiner and Jake Reiner.
The crime scene was cordoned off and under police protection, awaiting a court order to enter the house and collect decisive evidence.
According to official statements collected by Daily Mail, there are no signs of forced entry and so far only family members have been considered to testify.
Assistant Chief Alan Hamilton of the LAPD stated in a press conference that the case remains under investigation and no suspect has been charged.
“We are going to try to speak with all family members to learn the facts,” the official pointed out, adding that the victims will not be officially identified until the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office does so.
The news was confirmed publicly by a spokesperson for the Reiner family, cited by People.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are devastated by this sudden loss, and we request privacy during this incredibly difficult time,” reads the statement.
