Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday 23 of May will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic the floating bridge over the Ozama river, to allow the passage of a vessel.

According to the institution, the closure will take place between 10:00 in the morning and 12:00 noon, a period during which the circulation of vehicles will be suspended on the structure that connects the National District with Santo Domingo East. The MOPC recommended that drivers use the Duarte, Mella, and Juan Bosch bridges as alternative routes, with the aim of avoiding congestion and facilitating mobility during the work.

The authorities explained that these types of interruptions are necessary to ensure the safe transit of vessels through the Ozama River and preserve the operability of the floating bridge. The Floating Bridge is one of the main connections between the National District and Santo Domingo East, being used daily by thousands of drivers.
