Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River will remain closed to vehicular traffic from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., to allow the passage of three vessels.
The institution explained that during that period, the vessel M/T Soli Deo Gloria will descend from the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. shipyard.
Likewise, the barge IMI 105 and the vessel M/V Sheskna will travel upriver, bound for the Malaca facilities, operations that require the full opening of the bridge to ensure safe navigation.
The Floating Bridge constitutes one of the main connection routes between the National District and the Villa Duarte sector, in the Santo Domingo Este municipality, which is why the authorities recommended that drivers take alternate routes during the closing hours.
