Trump had shared hours earlier on his Truth Social network a message from a user who pointed out that Sheinbaum has on several occasions rejected the Republican’s offer for the United States to intervene in Mexico to combat drug cartels.
Trump insists that Sheinbaum “shouldn’t have rejected” his “help” against the cartels
New York.- U.S. President Donald Trump insisted this Friday that his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, “should not have rejected” his “help” to confront the cartels in the Latin American country, referring to a possible U.S. attack against drug traffickers.
“I shouldn’t have refused my help. I offered to take down the cartels in Mexico, and for some reason she doesn’t want to do it. I like her very much, but she should take down the cartels because, like it or not, they control Mexico,” the president replied to questions from the press before boarding the presidential plane Air Force One.
