U.S. Ambassador congratulates Claudia Sheinbaum on Mexico’s performance in the operation against “El Mencho”

Mexico. – The United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, issued a message of recognition to President Claudia Sheinbaum and the Mexican security forces for their actions in the operation that culminated in the fall of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the US diplomatic mission reported this Tuesday.

Through his social media, the diplomat highlighted “the value and prompt action” of the Mexican authorities before, during, and after the operation against the CJNG, categorizing the event as “a major blow against one of the most violent criminal organizations that harm our communities.” Johnson also extended his recognition to the “people of Mexico” for the determination shown by its security forces and called for firmness in the fight against organized crime, stressing that those responsible will be held accountable and that justice will prevail.
