The driver was grateful that the fire occurred when he was traveling alone and not with passengers on board, as at the time of the fire he was going to pick up employees from one of the companies for which he provides service.“I was just coming from the workshop. My brother sent me to get the bus and, as I was going up here, the bus went ‘boom’ and immediately a flame started coming out. I jumped out of the vehicle and even the AMET officer who was next to me on the street ran away,” narrated the young man.
Units from the National District Fire Department, along with members of the Digesett, arrived at the scene, who managed to extinguish the fire and maintain traffic flow to avoid greater congestion in the area. Captain Daniel Arias of the National District Fire Department reported that the causes of the fire are unknown at this time, while the corresponding investigations continue.“Thank God it only happened to me and not with the people I was going to pick up, because then things would have been ugly,” he expressed.
