Vehicle with Haitians in irregular migratory condition causes accident and leaves several injured in Mao

Mao, Valverde. – A traffic accident that occurred this Sunday left several injured and extensive material damage on Desiderio Arias Avenue. According to preliminary reports, a vehicle carrying more than a dozen citizens undocumented Haitians collided with another car, causing a strong impact that left both vehicles severely damaged. The incident was recorded in front of Edward’s Supermarket, a few meters from the General Benito Monción Fortress, headquarters of the Fourth Infantry Brigade of the Dominican Republic Army, which caused alarm among residents and passersby in the area.

Units from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 9-1-1 arrived at the scene, providing assistance to the injured and transporting them to different health centers. So far, there have been no reports of fatalities or the health status of the injured. The authorities initiated the corresponding investigations to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
