Santo Domingo. – Magistrate Wilson Camacho described the court’s resolution as a “historic decision”, which accepted the Public Ministry’s request and ordered coercive measures for the ten defendants in the SENASA Case, following the investigation of events qualified by Judge Rigoberto Sena as “cruel”, “extremely serious” and even comparable to a form of holocaust.
The court based its decision on three main elements: the seriousness of the facts recognized by the judge, the strength of the investigation presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the collaboration of some of the accused. As a result, seven of the accused were sent to preventive prison in Najayo Hombre and Najayo Mujer, while the other three received house arrest, financial guarantees, and a ban on leaving the country.

In total, the ten defendants are deprived of their freedom while the judicial process continues. The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it will continue working “day and night” to ensure that all those responsible answer to justice and pledged to present version 2.0 of the case as soon as possible.
Camacho highlighted the importance of this resolution, noting that it reflects the judiciary’s commitment to investigating and sanctioning extremely serious events in the country.
