159 undocumented foreigners are detained during operations in different communities of Valverde

Valverde.- As part of the interdiction, citizen security, and anti-smuggling operations carried out by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), 159 undocumented Haitian nationals were arrested in different communities in Valverde province. Members of the ERD carried out patrol operations in the Mao, Piloto, Esperanza and Laguneta sectors, where they detained undocumented foreigners, including 91 men and 68 women. Undocumented individuals were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade, and subsequently handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the corresponding legal purposes.

In a press release, the Dominican Republic Army guaranteed that it will continue to strengthen control and surveillance operations throughout the region, in order to preserve security and order.
