Baní, Peravia. Mango production and export continues to show sustained growth in the Dominican Republic, with a projection of nearly 10 million boxes exported this year, according to the Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Oliverio Espaillat, during the inauguration of Expo Mango 2026.
The official attributed this progress to the joint effort between producers, authorities, and entities linked to the agricultural sector, as well as the implementation of new technologies that have contributed to improving productivity and fruit quality.
Espaillat highlighted that the Dominican mango has managed to position itself in important international markets, becoming one of the country’s most representative agricultural products.
Likewise, he pointed out that the strengthening of this industry generates direct benefits for thousands of families, by boosting job creation and stimulating the economy of communities dedicated to agricultural production.

During the opening of the fair, various authorities highlighted the role of Expo Mango as a key stage to promote business opportunities, strengthen exports, and showcase the sector’s progress.

The senator for Peravia, Julito Fulcar Encarnación, valued the impact that the activity has for the province, while the president of the Organizing Committee, Onésimo Mejía, stated that the event serves to showcase the productive potential and the quality of the Dominican mango.
For his part, the president of the Dominican Mango Cluster, Rafael Leger, highlighted the growth achieved by the industry in recent years and the progress recorded in strategic markets, especially in the United States.
Expo Mango 2026 brings together producers, exporters, companies, and institutions linked to the agricultural sector, consolidating itself as one of the most important agricultural events in the country.
