Santo Domingo. The Dominican Republic was confirmed as the host of the
IV World Police Games, an event that will bring together security agents from more than 70 countries and will be held from
October 26 to 30, 2026 in Santo Domingo, becoming a historic milestone for sport and the international projection of the country.

The announcement was made by
General Jacobo Mateo Moquete, director of Sports of the National Police, who informed that this Tuesday a coordination meeting will be held at the
Dominican Olympic Sports Museum, with the participation of national authorities and representatives of the
International Police Sports Union (USIP).
Among the international guests will be
General Mohamed Al Dhaheri, president of USIP and member of the Dubai Police, along with
retired General Gonzalo Londoño, secretary general of the organization and former officer of the Colombian Police.
At the local level, the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful; the Director General of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta; the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz; the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldy Bautista; the president of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, José Monegro; the member of the International Olympic Committee, Luisín Mejía Oviedo, and the national baseball commissioner, Junior Noboa, will attend.
The international delegates will take advantage of the visit to inspect the facilities of the
Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, currently undergoing remodeling in preparation for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
“Major General Guzmán Peralta, when requesting the venue, proposed that the World Police Games be held immediately after the Central American and Caribbean Games, to take advantage of practically new and modern facilities,” highlighted Mateo Moquete.
The sports competition will feature the participation of police officers from the
73 member countries of USIP, who will compete in
eight official disciplines: baseball, judo, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, athletics, practical shooting (IPSC) and golf.
