Army detains 36 Haitians in different interdiction operations on the Northwest Line

The Dominican Republic Army, through the 4th Infantry Brigade, reported that during the weekend, 36 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were arrested during various operations carried out in the provinces of Valverde, Dajabón and Montecristi. The actions are part of the permanent immigration interdiction, citizen security, anti-smuggling, and support operations for other institutions of the State, which took place in different locations in the region.

In the municipality of Santiago de la Cruz, Dajabón, an Army patrol intercepted 15 undocumented Haitian nationals, including 13 men and 2 women, as they attempted to evade a military detachment in the area. During other tours in the sectors Amina and Boca de Mao, Valverde province, another 12 undocumented foreigners were arrested, including 10 men and 2 women. While at the Hatillo Palma Detachment, in Montecristi, soldiers arrested 9 Haitian nationals, including 8 men and 1 woman, in irregular condition. All detainees were transferred to the corresponding military detachments and subsequently referred to the competent authorities for the corresponding legal purposes. These operations are constantly executed as part of the Army’s commitment to national sovereignty and border control.
