Azua Governorate activates Prevention Committee ahead of Storm Melissa’s passage

Azua. – The provincial governor, María Minerva Navarro, led the activation of the Prevention, Mitigation and Response Committee (PMR) in response to the national alert issued due to the passage of Tropical Storm Melissa, with the aim of coordinating immediate actions to protect the population from possible impacts of the atmospheric phenomenon. During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Gobernación, the execution of emergency protocols and the prioritization of the most vulnerable areas of the province were arranged. The organizations that make up the Committee will strengthen early warning systems and the dissemination of preventive measures through official channels.

Governor Navarro highlighted that all rescue teams, machinery, and support personnel are ready to act in a coordinated manner in the event of any eventuality.


“Prevention and unity are essential to safeguard lives,” said the representative of the Executive Branch, urging citizens to stay informed and follow the guidance of the authorities.
