Moca, Espaillat. Dozens of inmates were transferred in the last few hours from the preventive jail located at the Moca police station to the La Isleta Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in an operation carried out by prison and security authorities.
So far, the authorities have not offered an official version regarding the reasons for the transfer or the exact number of inmates moved during the day.
However, unofficially, it has been reported that the measure seeks to decongest the facilities of the preventive jail that operates in the Moca police detachment, where inmates were facing overcrowding conditions due to overpopulation.
