Upon arriving at the National Palace, the protesters held a symbolic stop to demand justice and deliver a letter addressed to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, in which they express their frustration at what they consider a slow judicial process lacking the firmness that the case demands.

In turn, family members recounted how their lives changed forever from that night. “Nothing will ever be the same,” they repeated, while asking the judges to act with impartiality and responsibility, warning that this case must not go unpunished. They also reported that a hearing is scheduled for January 30 at 9:00 a.m., in which the Espaillat brothers will request a new expert assessment. The judicial meeting will take place in the Palacio de Justicia de Ciudad Nueva, under the watchful eye of family members who assure they will not rest until justice is served.
