Santo Domingo.- The political leader of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and former councilman of the Santo Domingo Oeste municipality, César Guzmán, passed away this Monday after suffering a heart attack, according to preliminary information.
The news was confirmed to N Digital by a source close to the former official, who did not offer details regarding the funeral arrangements or other aspects related to his passing.
Over the last few years, Guzmán served as an official for the Presidential Executing Unit (Eco5RD), where he coordinated the Government Rapid Action Unit (UGRA), an agency in charge of executing cleaning, sanitation, and assistance operations in communities affected by environmental emergencies.

In the exercise of those functions, he/she led interventions in different municipalities of the country, working jointly with mayors’ offices and local authorities to strengthen urban cleaning efforts and respond to situations caused by floods and other phenomena that impacted various communities.

In addition to his work in public administration, César Guzmán developed a distinguished career within the PRD, an organization in which he maintained active political and community participation. His closeness to the party base and the residents of Santo Domingo Oeste allowed him to establish himself as a well-known figure in the area.
His passing has caused dismay among political leaders, collaborators, and community members who shared with him during years of public service and political activity.
So far, family members and close associates have not officially reported on the funeral services that will be held in his honor.
