Puerto Plata.– Amidst anguish and uncertainty, Braulio González González, grandfather of the girl reported missing in the municipality of Imbert, expressed his deep concern this Thursday after arriving in the Dominican Republic from the United States, where he was at the time of the event.

“That’s all they’ve told me so far. There’s nothing concrete, but they’re working on it,” he stated, visibly affected, pointing out that members of the Civil Defense, the National Police and other agencies continue to be deployed in the area carrying out search efforts. He indicated that the situation has been extremely distressing for the whole family, which motivated him to take a flight immediately to the country. He also explained that the girl’s mother could not travel with him due to passport issues, although he is confident that she can do so in the next few hours to join the process. González González indicated that several family members, including the maternal grandmother, cousins, and other close relatives, have been questioned as part of the investigations, while the family clings to the hope of finding the minor alive. “I have faith in God. I know she is well, that she is alive. Although she is not with us now, I have hope that everything will be alright,” he expressed. The authorities reiterated that the search continues and that they are expanding the search radius in wooded areas and areas near the river, while the community remains in suspense over the girl’s disappearance.
