During the special accountability broadcast of the newspaper De Último Minuto, Hernández Alberto recalled that the president, upon coming to power, made his position clear: “You can have friends, but not accomplices.” He added that this has been “a permanence in his speech” and also “a permanence in his management.”

“He has raised the fight against corruption and what he has established is that there is no impunity in his management. Therein lies the difference,” said the leader, insisting that the president has been consistent between what he said and what he executed.
Hernández Alberto maintained that the country is undergoing an institutional transformation that directly impacts the justice system and electoral bodies.“Here the Central Electoral Board, which is an organization that must be independent, is independent. Here the Supreme Court of Justice is about to achieve its absolute independence. Here the Constitutional Court is an institution that has solidity,” he affirmed.
It was also pointed out that previously “judges and prosecutors were determined by the president in office” and that “there was no justice here at all”, contrasting that scenario with the current process of institutional strengthening. The leader called on the opposition to question the presidential speech with arguments. “Let him say what of what Luis Abinader said does not agree with the truth. Let him say?” he stated.
