In a statement, the National Police called on the media, content creators, and influencers “to verify the sources and confirm the information with the corresponding authorities before disseminating sensitive news such as alleged kidnappings or abductions, as this type of information can generate social alarm, misinformation, and affect the families involved.” Just yesterday, the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, denied the existence of an organ trafficking network identified in the country, while calling for prudence to avoid generating public alarm. Some people have insinuated, especially on social media, that the disappearance of children in the country could be related to an alleged organ trafficking network.
