PN recovers stolen cell phones and uses evidence during operations in Baní

Baní, Peravia province – The South Central Regional Directorate of the National Police (PN), based in Baní, reported important results within the framework of operations and investigation actions carried out in different parts of the city, achieving the recovery of stolen equipment and the detention of people with outstanding arrest warrants. In the Pueblo Nuevo sector, members of the Regional Sub-Directorate of Investigation (Dicrim) recovered five cell phones that had been taken from their owners through robberies. The devices were located in a vacant lot used as a collection center by Jean Carlos Polanco Tejeda (a) Mafu, 33 years old, who was arrested at the scene.

His accomplice, identified as Luis Aguavivas Marrón (a) Voica, remains at large. The institution specifies that Polanco Tejeda also has an outstanding arrest warrant from the Stolen Vehicles Division. In another police intervention, Luis Alberto Martínez Arias (a) Niño, 40 years old, a resident of the Los Cajuilitos sector, was arrested. He appears in the records due to a pending arrest warrant. The National Police is carrying out the corresponding investigations to clarify the legal situation of this citizen. In parallel, Investigation units and members of the Preventive Police carried out a wide operation around the Fortaleza de Baní, with the aim of preventing criminal acts and reinforcing citizen security.
