Santo Domingo.– The businessman and communicator Santiago Matías, better known as Alofoke, became the first Dominican to star in a prediction market on Polymarket, the world’s largest predictive market platform.

The event raises the question of whether a new political party led by Matías will be officially recognized by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) before June 30, 2027.

In accordance with the rules published by the platform, the market will be resolved as “Yes” only if the JCE grants official recognition to a newly created party led by Santiago Matías before the established deadline. It also specifies that it will not qualify an existing party that only changes its name or comes to be led by Alofoke. The resolution will be based exclusively on official information from the Central Electoral Board and other entities of the Dominican State.

Polymarket functions as a prediction market where participants buy and sell positions on the potential outcome of future events. The price of “Yes” and “No” options reflects the probability that the market itself assigns to a specific event occurring, constantly updating based on available information and user activity.

The inclusion of Santiago Matías on the platform places a Dominican political scenario within one of the main global prediction markets, where events related to elections, the economy, sports, and international affairs are regularly traded.
