President Abinader convenes extended Council of Ministers to outline government priorities for 2026

Santo Domingo.– Within the framework of the extended Council of Ministers, President Luis Abinader and his entire cabinet will hold a work session this Sunday aimed at prioritizing and articulating the projects with the greatest favorable impact on the lives of Dominicans and in the follow-up of the 10 Presidential Goals that summarize the government program. In the event, all ministers, directors, and officials that make up the Cabinet will organize themselves into thematic and sectoral working tables to review the planning and budget for 2026 in light of a list of priorities outlined by President Luis Abinader.

Once the three work sessions of the day are concluded, officials must dedicate themselves to ensuring the full execution of the projects that contribute the most to the 10 Prioritized Goals, under criteria of increased efficiency, transparency, and closeness to the people. In the day, President Abinader‘s officials will define clear mechanisms for monitoring and articulation to review, measure, and adjust each of the projects throughout the year. The extended Council of Ministers is the second moment of the “Articulation Day: Prioritized Actions for Government Goals 2026”, initiated by the Ministry of the Presidency in October 2025, with consultation of representatives of social organizations that work with and represent population sectors of women, youth, children and the elderly. The decisions of the first Council of Ministers of this year will be mandatory for all institutions, and will serve as a starting point to evaluate and improve the development of government management.
