RD-Vial highlights Baní Ring Road and new road projects

Baní, Peravia. – The director of the General Coordinating Office of the RD-Vial Trust RD-Vial, Hostos José Rizik Lugo, stated that the recently inaugurated Baní Ring Road is integrated into the “great southern circuit”, which will connect Santo Domingo with Barahona through 174 kilometers of express road, significantly reducing travel times and strengthening the connectivity of the entire region. Rizik Lugo explained that the work, financed with resources from RD-Vial and executed by the Ministry of Public Works, offers a more agile and safe circulation, with road assistance, cleaning and maintenance from its commissioning. He highlighted that the new road will decongest traffic in the center of Baní and improve the quality of life in the region. “This is development, modernization, job creation and quality of life,” he said.

Regarding the toll, he informed that it will have a standard cost of 100 pesos for category 1 vehicles and that a high volume of traffic is expected, although precise projections will be known after the first week of operation. He added that the road has one of the best horizontal and vertical signs in the country, including high-quality reflective devices, and that additional lighting will be installed on the bridges soon. The official announced that RD-Vial also finances other projects, such as the Azua Ring Road, the Enriquillo–Pedernales highway, and three overpasses on the Duarte highway at kilometers 17, 22 and 28, which will eliminate traffic lights and reduce congestion on the Santo Domingo–Santiago route.
