Santiago Rodríguez. — A patrol of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) intercepted a vehicle with 23 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition, including the driver, after a chase in the Santiago Rodríguez province. The soldiers of the ERD, stationed at the El Guanal checkpoint, ordered a Ford jeep, Explorer model, red color, license plate G200717, to stop, whose driver ignored the order and fled, which led to a chase that culminated in front of the Clara Luz Lora school, where the soldiers managed to intercept the vehicle.Upon inspection, 23 foreigners in irregular migratory status were found inside, including 13 men, 8 women, and 2 minors.

Among those arrested is the vehicle driver, identified as Guerime Wesly, of Haitian nationality. The driver, the undocumented individuals, and the vehicle were transferred under custody to the ERD Fortress in Santiago Rodríguez, for the corresponding legal purposes and their subsequent handover to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM).
