Washington.– The President of the United States, Donald Trump, lamented the death of Dolly Parton and ordered that flags be flown at half-staff for a week throughout the North American territory as a tribute to the country music singer, who passed away this Tuesday at 80 years old.
The president reacted to the artist’s passing through a post on his Truth Social account, where he highlighted her musical career and expressed his condolences for her departure.
Trump described Parton as one of the premier country music performers and noted that her artistic reach transcended that genre. “It is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and there never will be,” the president wrote.
“The world loves you”, Trump expressed in his farewell message.
The singer had recently faced health issues that led her to modify some of her public activities.

Days before her passing, Parton had spoken about her condition and explained that she was attending to medical matters that she had put on the back burner while caring for her husband, Carl Dean, who died in March of 2025.
