Declassified documents: Ayuso accuses Sánchez of ignoring warning over Ceuta migrant influx

Madrid. Declassified reports on the mass arrival of migrants from Morocco to Ceuta in late July allegedly show that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez failed to act despite receiving a warning about the expected migrant flow into the autonomous city, according to Madrid regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

Ayuso said Thursday that official government documents directly implicate Sánchez for failing to take measures after authorities warned about the migrant influx. The People’s Party leader questioned the central government’s handling of immigration and border security.

“Despite being able to prevent this tragedy, they deliberately allowed so much damage to occur,” Ayuso said, according to Europa Press.
