Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez defended his decision to take a vacation in Lanzarote following the migration crisis in Ceuta, where more than 70,000 migrants entered irregularly from Morocco on July 30 and 31.
Sánchez said he continued working and remained informed about the crisis and the wildfires affecting Spain while on vacation.
“I have worked and rested. That is also my right,” Sánchez said during an interview with Cadena SER.
He spent time with his family in Lanzarote from August 1 to 23 before returning to Madrid and resuming his activities.
