VIDEO: “Watch your mouth”: Bergerot confronts Ayuso over Maricarmen
More Madrid spokesperson Manuela Bergerot confronted regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso during Thursday’s session of the Madrid Assembly over the death of Maricarmen, an 87-year-old woman who had been evicted from her home. Bergerot accused Ayuso of disrespecting Maricarmen and told her: “Watch your mouth before talking about Maricarmen.”
Bergerot accused real estate company Urbagestión of subjecting Maricarmen to years of alleged housing harassment and putting financial interests above the woman’s life.
Socialist spokesperson Mar Espinar also criticized the circumstances surrounding Maricarmen’s case, arguing that pressure from property investment funds had contributed to her situation. Urbagestión has rejected the accusations and reported receiving threats and cyberattacks following the eviction.
