Oslo.- The mother of Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado, Corina Parisca, said this Wednesday that the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, despite her absence in Oslo, will be well represented at the award ceremony by her family and “all” Venezuelans, and promised that the former congresswoman will not disappoint them in their struggle.
“She is so well represented both by us, her family, and by you, her friends and the people of Venezuela, who are waiting for this and more. And she will give it,” she affirmed to media in Oslo, including EFE, after it was known that the politician has finally been unable to reach the Norwegian capital.
Parisca emphasized that he has “in his soul the satisfaction” that “everyone is recognizing in María Corina, a great woman dedicated to goodness, to help, to her country and to the world in general, in everything she can”.
“Now I really feel super proud,” she emphasized.
“We were waiting for Cori, but if the Lord decided that she shouldn’t come, it’s fine, she is represented by her mother and grandchildren,” she said, and explained that “faith sustains her” at this time.
“And the faith in the certainty that it is the path that God chose for her. She has earned it with her work, but any result or circumstance that arises is not her, because it is not what she is looking for,” he emphasized.
The mother of the Venezuelan opposition leader indicated that she has not been able to speak with her daughter, who is living in an unknown location in Venezuela, but who had assured last weekend that she would arrive in Oslo to personally collect the Nobel Peace Prize.
However, Parisca sent a message to María Corina Machado: “my love, we love you very much, we love you more than ever, but not because they gave you an award. Of course that contributes, but because you are the way you are”, he said.
