Argentine TikToker Agustín López Gagliasso, 22, was found guilty and sentenced to 16 years in prison for a January 2025 crash in Rosario that killed a 41-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter.
The victims, Tania Gandolfi and her daughter Agustina García, were visiting the city when they were struck by a gray Peugeot 206 driven by López Gagliasso. Both died in the crash.
The Rosario Criminal Justice Center sentenced López Gagliasso for simple homicide with eventual intent and minor injuries. He was also banned from driving for 10 years.
According to the court’s findings, López Gagliasso was driving at approximately 120 kilometers per hour through a central area with pedestrian traffic, allowing him to anticipate the risk that his actions could result in someone’s death.
Prosecutor Valeria Piazza, from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Unit for Traffic Crashes and Negligent Crimes, said the incident began after López Gagliasso had an altercation with a motorcyclist while driving through the Illia Avenue tunnel.

The prosecutor said he then accelerated and pursued the motorcyclist without considering the potential consequences. During the pursuit, he allegedly failed to use the brakes and made several zigzag maneuvers.
During one of those maneuvers, he lost control of the vehicle and struck Gandolfi and her daughter.
The prosecution argued that López Gagliasso recognized death as a serious possibility but continued with what it described as exceptionally dangerous conduct that put the lives of others and himself at risk.
