Javier Milei once again sent an electoral-coded message ahead of 2027 and, like so many other times, chose to polarize with Kirchnerism. The President spoke at the IAEF Congress, where he defended the Government’s economic direction, but also took the opportunity to denounce a coup d’état by the opposition, highlight the reforms in Congress, and anticipate the campaign that is coming after the World Cup.
The head of state began by citing the Disney movie Monsters Inc -he said it is “fabulous”- and explained: “What is the plot of the movie? A monster goes and wants to scare a little girl and the little girl looks at him and bursts out laughing. That is to say, the day we take the mask off the collectivist monsters, this country will be definitively free and will be great again”.
And he sentenced: “We already know, the campaign is Monsters Inc. Monster K. Monster, you don’t scare us anymore. I think Toto was quite clear about that today”.
In that sense, the president spoke about the country’s economic future and asserted: “We know that stability must be strengthened with the growth generated by unleashing the country’s productive forces. We want Argentina to once again occupy a leading role in the global economy after a century of decline.”

“We were one of the richest countries in the world. From then on, over the last hundred years, we grew at an average of one percent per year, to the point that in the last stretch of that period, between 2011 and 2023, we didn’t even grow,” he added. And he continued: “Rulers of all political stripes tried to make people believe it was a matter of bad luck, as if Argentina were a strange case where doing things right could bring bad results or that what went wrong was the fault of alleged enemies of the people. This is purely and simply an attempt to deceive all Argentines, because Argentina did not have bad luck, Argentina had terrible rulers.”
In that vein, Milei emphasized: “For the first time in the last hundred years there is a government that is willing to do the things that are right. And how will it turn out? Well.” Meanwhile, regarding next year’s presidential elections, the head of state affirmed: “We decided to do the things that are backed by economic theory, by empirical evidence, and to do what is appropriate. Clearly, the results are supporting us and today the economy is already much better than in 2023. But by the end of the year it will be better, by the middle of next year it will be much better and next year, in October, we are going to crush them and we are going to continue promoting the ideas of freedom”.
For his part, Milei referred to “three mechanisms of destruction of wealth and growth”, where he pointed mainly against inflation, which he defined as “the most regressive tax that exists, because it implies a transfer of wealth from the poorest”. Meanwhile, he questioned regulation and indicated: “It is an obstacle that prevents two parties from reaching a voluntary agreement that benefits both. If we multiply this behavior over decades and by millions of transactions that never occurred, we are talking about companies that were never formed and jobs that never came to exist”.
Finally, he pointed to the tax burden: “If the return on an investment is taken by the State instead of its rightful owner, or if the State can potentially steal it according to the expropriatory whim of some ruler of the day, the investment does not happen. And if the investment does not happen, jobs are not created and economic growth does not occur. It is that simple, there is no greater mystery”.
“Liberticidal politicians will always wash their hands and use the temporal distance between cutting the roots of freedom and the fall in growth as a great excuse. For all these reasons, the hockey stick of GDP per capita that we have seen since the Industrial Revolution was the greatest miracle of human invention and discovery. It was the result of unleashing increasing returns, the result of freeing men from the yoke of feudalism and giving them true ownership of their own person. That is to say, when ideas accumulate and specialization deepens, returns grow instead of decreasing, the market expands and accelerates this process. The world changes at an increasingly rapid pace and new industries flourish and displace the old ones”, the president stated.
And he added: “In Argentina, we killed the freedom of our people to worship the state god, and that god failed radically. It returned the devotion that so many governments so freely gave it with backwardness, poverty, and subjugation. That is also why the structural reforms we are carrying out are so important. They are the systematic elimination of the obstacles that prevented Argentines from growing”.

Likewise, he defended the labor modernization law passed by the National Congress and maintained: “The labor market had been obsolete for several decades due to excessive rigidity, where people were afraid to hire because a bad hire could lead you to bankruptcy. In that market, it was more valuable to hire someone you trusted than someone ideal for the position, which was stalling the overall productivity of our economy”.
Finally, he criticized, without naming them directly, governors opposed to the Executive Branch: “At least half of the provinces are showing economic growth after decades of stagnation, and this growth is even more marked in those that were the first to adhere to the RIGI. And the only ones that are neutral or doing a little poorly are precisely those of the provinces that live by opposing everything we propose”.
