A jewelry store in Woodbridge, New Jersey, lost nearly $1 million in gold and diamonds during a smash-and-grab robbery that lasted less than 45 seconds, according to the store’s owners.
Security cameras captured several masked suspects arriving outside 9lakha Jewelers shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Four men reportedly entered the store armed with hammers, smashed display cases and grabbed jewelry before fleeing.
No one was injured, although the owners described the robbery as terrifying. Police are investigating and searching for the suspects.
The store, which the owners opened about a year ago, was reportedly the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. The owners said they remain focused on serving their customers despite the significant loss.
