Several dead and injured after two high-speed trains derail in Spain

Córdoba (Spain).- At least two people have died, several have been injured and an unspecified number are trapped after the derailment of two high-speed trains in the municipality of Adamuz (Córdoba, southern Spain), according to sources from the Civil Guard and the Regional Emergency Service. The accident occurred when a train heading to Madrid derailed and invaded the adjacent track, on which another train was traveling, making the Madrid-Huelva journey, and which also derailed. Numerous fire units, ambulances and police have been deployed to the scene of the accident, added the Andalusian Emergency service. The high-speed service between Madrid and Andalusia has been cut.
