President Donald Trump warned that the United States would bomb Iranian infrastructure if the Islamic Republic attacks commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the U.S. would destroy “a bridge or a power plant” every time Iran attacks a ship in the strategic waterway using missiles, rockets, drones or any other weapon.
The warning comes amid renewed regional tensions and reports that Yemen’s Houthi rebels have threatened to target vessels operating from Saudi ports on the Red Sea, raising concerns over maritime security and global energy shipments.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit routes, making any threat to shipping in the area a major concern for international trade and energy markets.
