Woman jailed in Colombia over alleged sexual abuse of two children

A woman identified as Sharon Hasbleidy Alomía Angulo has been ordered to prison in Colombia after being charged with aggravated sexual abuse involving a child under 14 and aggravated sexual acts involving minors.

According to the Colombian Attorney General’s Office, the investigation alleges that Alomía Angulo took advantage of her close relationship with the family of two brothers, ages 8 and 11, to allegedly subject them to sexual abuse. The incidents reportedly occurred between April and September 2026 in Buenaventura, in the Valle del Cauca department.

Investigators allege that the woman took the children to properties in the Centenario and San Francisco neighborhoods, where the alleged abuse took place.

Authorities are also investigating whether Alomía Angulo recorded some of the alleged incidents with her cellphone. Investigators reportedly found that she may have taken photographs and recorded videos of the children, allegedly intending to circulate the material as adult content.

The case remains before the criminal justice system, which will determine the woman’s responsibility based on the evidence gathered during the investigation. The charges include aggravating circumstances because of the victims’ ages.
