Skeet shooting team qualifies for Santo Domingo 2026 CACG

EL HIGUERO. The Dominican Republic won a silver medal and qualified the men’s skeet team in the XXI Central American and Caribbean Clay Shooting Championship held at the Shooting Range here.

In addition, Julio E. Dujarric, Stefano Hazoury, and Máximo Tavarez secured their spots in individual skeet for the regional multi-sport event. The competition, in which shooters from 12 countries are participating, is a qualifier for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The Dominican Republic team, made up of Julio E. Dujarric, Stefano Hazoury and Máximo Tavarez, finished with 212 broken plates out of a possible 225, surpassed by the Guatemalan team, made up of Carlo Padilla Coronado, Diego Bermúdez Labbe and Santiago Romero Juarrez, who took the gold with 215 knocked-down plates. The bronze medal went to the Guadeloupe delegation (Pierre Bourgeois, Jacky Chinapayen and Jeremy Tilot, with 200 broken plates out of a possible 225. Cuba, with shooters Juan Rodríguez, José González and Yandry Montenegro, also achieved qualification by occupying the fourth step, while Mexico, with Luis Gallardo, Juan Martínez and Jesús Balboa, also secured their ticket to Santo Domingo 2026.Men’s Individual Ranking
Dominicans Stefano Hazoury, Máximo Tavarez, and Julio E. Dujarric secured their respective qualifications in men’s individual skeet shooting for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. Hazoury, with 119 plates, ranked in third place, while Tavarez entered as the fifth best position, with 118 broken plates, and Dujarric finished in sixth place, with 117 plates. They also secured their tickets for the regional multi-sport event Diego José Bermúdez Labbe, from Guatemala, with first place (121 broken plates), followed by his compatriot Santiago Romero Juarrez (119). Mexican Luis Gallardo qualified in fifth place, with 118 broken plates out of a possible 125 in the three rounds of 25 plates each. The qualifier continues this Friday, starting at 8:30 in the morning, with the first three qualifying rounds in trap, while Saturday will be the remaining two elimination rounds and the finals in the afternoon with the awards ceremony.
